Installing Business_Website_Starter_Pack_1.4 package gives System.InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains no elements error.

I have installed UmbracoCms 7.1.8 on windows 7 (No service pack) 32-bit.  I am using IIS 7.5 and .net framework 4.5.

While installing Business_Website_Starter_Pack_1.4 package gives System.InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains no elements” error.

What can be the problem for such namespace error ? How can I fix the same.

    Hi Sham

That's unfortunate - The business website starter kit is a very old package from 2009, which was working good on version 4.5 installations.

But a lot has happened since then. The backoffice have gotten a big makeover and the underlying API's have been updated so the package is probably not compatible with the latest release of Umbraco.

You could try to see if you can succeed in uninstalling it - Otherwise I'm afraid the fastest way forward is to start over on a fresh installation. If that's an option and you decide to do so then by all means go for the latest release of Umbraco, which is 7.2 where a lot of new awesome stuff has been added. The grid editor for instance.

You can learn more about the grid editor here http://our.umbraco.org/Documentation/Using-Umbraco/Backoffice-Overview/Property-Editors/Built-in-Property-Editors-v7/Grid-Layout and here http://our.umbraco.org/Documentation/Using-Umbraco/Backoffice-Overview/Property-Editors/Built-in-Property-Editors-v7/Grid-Layout-Best-Practices

You can read a bit more about it in the release blogpost here http://umbraco.com/follow-us - When you're installing it it's coming with the Fanoe starter kit as a default and that's probably a better starting point if you're new to Umbraco than the starter kit you just tried to install.

    I hope this helps.

    /Jan
