    Hi,

I was wondering if there was a chance of getting some support or advice over an issue we have with Umbraco and whether any users have had the same issue and how it was resolved.

We are using Umbraco, installed on an independent server, for our intranet page however it has recently 'Gone down' and caused the Page 500 HTML Error.

Unsure why this is however we have backed up the files / folder and recovered the back up of one that was two months old but that is missing the site settings so was wondering if there was any advice on how we can restore these.

    Any support is appreciated.

    Hi Evangelos,

There are a few things to check, but essentially you need to identify what error is being thrown.

If this is running locally and you can, I would suggest turning off Remote Errors, this should result in the error page you are seeing giving you more details about the actual error. (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/815166/how-to-troubleshoot-asp-net-web-applications#3)

It's also worth checking the Umbraco Log files for the error. (https://our.umbraco.com/forum/using-umbraco-and-getting-started/84575-how-to-open-the-log-file-in-umbraco)

Without knowing the error, it's hard to advise on how to resolve the issue :-)

    Thanks

    Nik
