My bad. My issue problem is solved now. I thought I used the new tagger datatype in V4, but actually I was still running on the old tagger datatype as Per released long time ago. The new one is just called Tags in the rendercontrol window.
When changing that, everyting works fine now in LiveWriter - including creating new ones, as Tim couldn't.

Has anyone used the Umbraco Tagger datatype as category field in a blogpost, and used it together with LiveWriter ?
I'm getting an error in LiveWriter: Object reference not set to an instance of an object when opdating the category list.
I had the same issue one year ago, when Per Plough released the tagger datatype first time.

It should work on Umbraco 4 with the build in tagger data type. It doesn't work in v3.

Can only pick tags from list, can't add new ones from livewriter
