When I create a new media item from within the media section, the size of the crop box is always the correct size. i.e. it is the size of the dimensions specified in the crop data type.
When I create a new media item from the DAMP media picker, the size of the crop box is much really big. This is the case even when using the DAMP sample page.
Hmm that is strange. Actually the bottom picture is the expected behaviour. The complete image get's cropped and is resized to the target crop size. Sorry I don't know why the first picture is that way.

Any ideas why this might be?
Sorry I've never seen this before. Could you perhaps post some screenshots so I can see how it looks?

Sure. Here is what happens when I create a new image from the Media section:
You can see the crop box is the same size as the target crop size.
Now here is the same image that I created from within the DAMP sample page, and then clicked edit:
Here you can see the crop box is way bigger than the target crop dimensions.
This is happening to me on a fresh install of Umbraco 4.7.1.1, DAMP 2.0, DAMP 2.0 Samples, and Firefox 11.0

Ah ok I didn't realise that. No problem then.
