I am using the excellent Eksponent.CropUp package for cropping images and this equally excellent DAMP package for choosing the media.
Unfortunately it seems that the "Edit" option doesn't work quite well with the CropUp cropper. It loads the image correct, but the croppings list (sidebar) doesn't load - so it's not possible to position the "focus" point correct, neither is it possible to define any custom crops on the image.
Agreed, the awesomeness of the CropUp cropper lies in the fact that it's rarely necessary to actually change the defaults - still, it would be nice to be able to do this from within DAMP as we've been used (spoiled, yes) to.
I guess I'd hoped that the "Edit" button simply opened the editor for the Media item somehow, but I guess that's not the case? Or is it really the CropUp cropper that does something unexpected?
I'd like to hear if anyone is able to help with this - for now, I'll have to disable the "Edit" button in DAMP (which is itself excellent, that I can do that).
I haven't tested the Eksponent.CropUp with DAMP yet. The edit button opens the media item, but does some custom stuff. For example if you press the save button while editing the modal closes again. This required some modifications to the edit media page (so I made a custom version) and I guess that Eksponent.CropUp does something to the default edit media page which it doesn't to my version. Not sure if this needs to be fixed in DAMP or Eksponent.CropUp.

Thanks Jeroen,
I'll try to investigate a little further - it'll probably need a little tweaking in both, I guess.

I'm a little busy the next week, but I'll definitely look into DAMP integration when I get back to CropUp :)
Any news regarding this topic?
Do they work together?
