This plugin almost hits the jackpot for me... I want to use it as the core image selecting datatype for my slider script. However, it doesn't support linking of each of the images to site's content.
Is there anything I can do ?
(I'd like to give the CMS user the option to create a slider of images, where the UI gives the option to select the images, when each will be linked to some content node)

You might want to have a look at the Widget Builder. It's commercial package, but also supports DAMP.

However, it seems that I will just have to change the code myself in order to to support it.
