Does DTGE respect the mandatory settings specified on the content type?
For example, got a tiny content type with a media picker which is a required property.
If I insert such content in a grid but didn't select a media, will it enforce me to select an image? Yes, tried it and no, it didn't, just wanted to know if this were expected behaviour or other reasons not to include this.
Is it because of the DetachedPublishedContent thing? Or anything else?
Yes and no... no as in there's no way to enforce it configuration wise, yes as in custom validation on save/publish (it works, although not that pretty)
Does doc type grid editor respect content type settings such as "Mandatory"

I am not sure...but looking at the source code there is no validation happening.
I guess there will be a good reason for it.

Just come up against this myself, did you ever resolve it Dirk?
Hi Simon,
Yes and no... no as in there's no way to enforce it configuration wise, yes as in custom validation on save/publish (it works, although not that pretty)
