I'm looking into using Merchello for a basic shop. Client is a charity and they're looking to sell branded merchandise - t-shirts, pens, mugs, etc.
They're not VAT registered and can apparently only ask for a suggested donation rather than charge a fixed price - so if they ask for £5 for a t-shirt but the customer only wants to pay 50p they have to accept the 50p (and if the customer wants to pay £100, they'll happily accept that!). Does Merchello support this kind of pricing model?
This should be possible. When you add an item to the cart, you can override the price to be anything you want. This is how we did wholesale pricing on a site that we built.
Not sure if I've blogged or if there is an example of this anywhere so let me know if you need help with the specifics.
Flexible pricing
