We're looking into using Merchello for a customer. I have seen that it is possible to save custom data on several tables. Now we need to save some data on all orders, but I can only find extended data on the orderitems, not on the order itself.
Is that right and if so: what would be the best way to save the data that is connected to the order as a whole?
At the moment, you are correct - there is no mechanism to extend invoices/orders like the line items. There has been some discussion about doing that - seems to become important and then not so much ...
With invoices you can attach notes associated with them (and conceivably put JSON into the note) but not obviously ideal.
Extending Order data

It'd be a great pull request!
Hi Rusty,
Thanks for your answer.
For now then I think it is best for me to add an extra product/orderline with the data concerning the whole order.
(and yes, I agree: it would be great if it could be saved on the order itself in the future)
is working on a reply...
