I've just used cmsImport to try to import one of our products and that gave an error during the import. At first I thought that the error was caused by cmsImport itself but on further investigation I think it might be a limitation in both Merchello and cmsImport caused by a SQL limitation. Rusty can you please confirm if it is and let me know if there is a workaround?
The product was imported and all of the three product option choices were imported. If I try to save the product again in Merchello I get the same problem:
Product 'A1' option 'O1' failed to import The incoming request has too many parameters. The server supports a maximum of 2100 parameters. Reduce the number of parameters and resend the request.
This was a product that had three product options where option 1 has 39 choices, option 2 has 2 choices and option 3 has 39 choices. This should create 3043 rows in the merchProductVariant table but stops at 2100.
Due to various reasons we decided to combine our option data into one option. This throws up its own set of issues but at least now the only variants created are the ones that are valid.
Therefore we get nowhere near the 2100 limit, the import is much faster, a lot less storage is used and there is less chance of Merchello slowing down.

I am having this exact same issue. Anybody knows if there is a real solution to this? I cannot combine everything into one.
