    how to add the dropdownlist to a masterpage

    Hi Yannick,

    I downloaded version 1.0 of the Multi-language tools package, and I'm trying add a dropdownlist with flags to my masterpage, but I don't know how to do this. I added this razor code to my masterpage:

    <umbraco:Macro Language="cshtml" runat="server">
    @RenderPage("~/macroscripts/MultiLanguage/LanguageSwitcher/List.cshtml")
    </
    umbraco:Macro>

    but then if the page is rendered I get the error message:

    "Error loading Razor Script The file "~/macroscripts/MultiLanguage/LanguageSwitcher/List.cshtml" could not be rendered, because it does not exist or is not a valid page"

    Am I missing something, or should I do more besides putting the LanguageSwitcher.cshtml in my MacroScripts folder?

    Thanks for your advice,

    Anthony

    There is no option to render a dropdownlist with flags (yet). Either a list of flags or a a dropdownlist.

    There should be no LanguageSwitcher.csthml in the package so it is definitely not enough to place this file in the macroscripts folder. Have you installed the package?

    I if click the download link on the package page, the only thing that is downloaded is the languageswitcher.cshtml file. Or should I download the package from another page?

    ah I see! have to set the current release in the project settings to the new package file. Didn't know that. Please download again and make sure it's a zip file called Goyaweb_Multi-Language_tools_1.0.zip

    Hi Yannick,

    I downloaded the Goyaweb Multi-Language tools and installed the package. The dropdownlist works fine on my page. Is it possible to add the MLLanguageSwitcher macro to a template, or can it only be added to a page?

    thanks for your advice,

    Anthony

    Hi Yannick,

    It works perfectly! This package is a great contribution to Umbraco.

    Thanks a lot,

    Anthony

    Hi, I know little Umbraco and I want to know  if there is no video for the installation of version1.0 of the Multi-language tools package. For my level would be much easier to understand. Thanks.

    Liliana

    Hi Liliana, there is not much to it really. It's like any other package. Install it, insert a macro in your template, set the macro variable to either List, DropDown or Flags and you're set!

    For a video on what a macro is you could check:

    How many languages did you install into your website? Can you see them in the Languages node in the Settings area? Have you applied the languages to your root nodes?
