uPersonal: real-time on-site personalization for Umbraco 7
With uPersonal, the content of the website adjusts real-time based on current click behavior and a number of pre-set rules. Personalizing this content can be based on various "triggers", such as visited pages, the origin of the visitor, location (based on IP address), used search terms in Google, new visitors versus returning visitors or existing customers versus new customers.
Build user profiles
With online personalization, your website adapts to different types of user profiles. Visitors build a profile through their actions and current click behavior on the website. The built-up profile consists of attributes and segments. A visitor falls within a certain segment when "a trigger" is fired. The "trigger" turns the segment on or off. In this way you can, for example, tune texts, images or call to actions to a segment of users. You can even choose whether or not to display certain parts or promotions on your website for a certain segment.
Attributes for a current profile
Where segments are fixed for a longer time, attributes change continuously. Services such as YouTube, Netflix and Spotify know how to predict what we like and what content we need. uPersonal does the same. Pages on the website are given a score of 0 to 100 for certain attributes. When a visitor comes to a certain page, the attribute score is added to the score that the visitor already has for this attribute in his or her profile. If a page scores low on a certain attribute, the score in the profile decreases. The profile thus adapts to
the user's preferences and current click behavior.
