I've just started the build of our coporate local council website which needs to be bilinqual. Vorto works excellent for switching between languages but I've just made a field mandatory but it allows me to save with the field empty.
I've been speaking to Matt Brailsford about this. We are going to pay for the functionality to be added and hopefully it can find itself into the core product.
Well I've just confirmed the work with Matt and it doesn't sound like its a big job. I'm not sure if he's going to include it within the core product but would definately like to see it included.
If not and depending on Matt's approval, I'm more than willing to send you over a copy when done.
