Working with Umbraco Forms and Umbraco 7.2.1

    Hi,

May I ask if this package is compatible with Umbraco 7.2.1? I am using Umbraco forms/contour with umbraco and has a dilemma whether Contour Contrib will work totally fine.

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Simon,

What do you need from the package when you are using Umbraco 7.2.1 and Umbraco Forms. Or are you using Contour. There are some difference between these two projects.

Looking forward to hear from you,

    /Dennis

    Hi Simon,

Which functionality do you need from the Contour Contrib package. Just so I know why you need this and has a dilemma.

Hi Dennis, Unfortunately, this package does not work properly.

May I ask you how can I add the reply-to email address option please?

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards

Hey, the fieldtypes won't work out of the box but the workflow types should just work... what error do you get when installing?

It is saying that the package was installed successfully, but when I go to Umbraco forms and click on the existing form, I see noting.

Also, when select existing work flows, the dropdown list of the workflow types will be totally empty.

    Hi Simon,

I have just tried setup an Umbraco 7.2.1 running the Txt starter kit, and the Contour Contrib workflow works just fine, you need to choose under the form workflow. And then the reply-to email address is working for me.

So please make sure that you deleted the attached workflow, and make sure that you are using the extended XSLT transformed email workflow instead.

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

I have tried again re-install it but the behaviour of the Umbraco forms, once Coontour Contrib will be installed, will not remains the same.

For exampl,e when I click on the exisiting form to make changes, or create a new form, nothing happens; just remains a white screen.

Also if I try to add a new workflow/action, and llows me to enter a name for the workflow and select the type of workflow, no values will be there in the drop down menu.

I am using Umbraco 7.2.1. All what I want is just to add the reply-to functioanlity, that's all.

    Any idea please?

    thank you.

    Hi Simon,

Okay so you are using the Umbraco Forms, and not Contour these are two separate projects. I think to get the Coontour Contrib works, then you need to use the Contour instead of using the Umbraco Forms.

So try to uninstall the Umbraco Forms, and install Contour instead https://our.umbraco.org/projects/umbraco-pro/contour, the Contour project is still valid for Umbraco 7

    Hope this helps, /Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

What is the main difference please? And I think that I will lost everything, forms, changes to the html field types etc..And what about the license purchased?

    Thank you.

    Hi Simon,

The license is the same, so nothing has changed there. From the top of my head the main differences in Forms is there are, no code first, less record states (so only submitted and approved on), no user security, only records are stored in db, rest is stored as json on filesystem.

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

I think that it not worth it to change from Umbraco Forms to Contour, what do you think?

I need to just have a workflow to add the reply-to, that's all.

    Hi Simon,

Then I think you need to extend the Umbraco Forms with a custom workflow, you can find the documentation on how to extend the Umbraco Forms here: https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Products/UmbracoForms/Developer/Extending and specifically on Umbraco Forms workflows. https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Products/UmbracoForms/Developer/Extending/Adding-a-Workflowtype

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

I think that it is the best solution.

May I ask where can I find a template of the existing ones, as a class, of the Umbraco Forms, so that I can modify it accordingly?

    thank you.
