Announcement: Google Group Closed - this is the new Umbraco CMS Core discussion place

    Hi All,

If you didn't already know we've moved discussions for contributing to the Umbraco CMS core to this forum instead of Google Groups. The previous Google Groups has been archived and is read only:

    https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!forum/umbraco-dev

Here's the post on how this will work moving forward:

    https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/umbraco-dev/ZbDXAO6HZEU

    Hello fellow Umbracians,

We started this Google Group a few years ago to facilitate discussions about the direction of development on the Umbraco CMS product. Recently we've found that this forum has run it's course as the Our Umbraco forum, the issue tracker and Github pull request discussions have taken over the objectives of this group. Therefore this group is closing today.

    Where to post now?

    1. There's a new forum on Our that you can subscribe to, there's a "Follow" button on the top right when you're logged in. Following that forum results in an email sent to you whenever a new topic is created in this forum: https://our.umbraco.org/forum/contributing-to-umbraco-cms/

    2. If you have feature requests, usability issues or bugs to discuss then create a new issue on the issue tracker. Umbraco HQ reads all issues submitted and prioritizes them accordingly. We can also mark issues as being "Up for grabs", indicating that we think it's a great idea that we currently can't prioritize in our work on the core but we would be happy for a contribution in the form of a pull request. When appropriate we'll also describe how we think the feature/fix should be implemented and we'll help you along the way if you have questions and when you submit code for review.

    3. Speaking of code for review: when you do find an issue on the tracker that you want to help fix or implement: open a pull request on Github. Even if you have just implemented a proof of concept or just throwing an idea out there. If you have code then we're happy to look at it and give you feedback. Note: for point 2 and 3: if it's a significant amount of work, make sure not to spend a long time creating and polishing something. Sometimes we can't use what you've made or it isn't in the direction that we want to go. Make sure to discuss early and let us know what your plan is so we can provide feedback and align it to the work we're doing or are planning on doing on Umbraco CMS. If you're new to contributing code then we have documentation about that on this page: https://our.umbraco.org/contribute/

On behalf of the Umbraco team: thank you for your participation in this group!

    Best, Sebastiaan.
