When will Umbraco allow the CMS user to copy grid layouts and grid editors to the same page and to another page? It would be a great feature for the content managers experience.
On the subject of "how do you get a feature into the core", I have no idea. Maybe send flowers to HQ? :)
The best way is to create something, that people can't live without. The more people that can get behind it, the bigger the chance it has to become adopted by HQ.

There has been POCs done on this, and there is also a package https://our.umbraco.com/packages/backoffice-extensions/copy-paste-grid-editors/
