Don't think it's a good idea to alter that data in the database (think it's stored in cmsContentVersion), you'd better add an extra property to set the date for sorting.

I wasn't meaning to have a dig, you'll get more visibility from the community in the appropriate forums. That's what people subscribe to and browse regularly.
Where is the location of the Actual Data?
I have a news Items pages and I need to add historial items. I need to manually alter the "CreateDate" value so that news items are ordered properly.
Any help appreciated.

DIrk's right (also this is hardly a problem with the core, it's an API question).
Otherwise you could look at something like CMSImport to be it from your old site
