I did in the end get this working, however I do not recall specifically what the issue was;
Below is a paste of my documentation when I was working through the issues. It is not complete. But it may help you;
CONFIGURE THE CONTENT CHANNELGoto Media -> Add a new folder called EditorXXXX where XXXX is the descriptor of what you want this content to be about. Goto Users -> Add a new one. Set Username: EditorXXXX where XXXX is the descriptor of what you want this content to be about. Set Login: EditorXXXX where XXXX is the descriptor of what you want this content to be about. Set UseType: Editor Sections : Tick content Leave the rest as default Set Name: EditorXXXX where XXXX is the descriptor of what you want this content to be about. Choose the start node Choose the media library you created in step 1 Set the document type Choose the Description Field Leave Category Field and Excerpt field blank
QUESTIONS Q: What is the "Search all children" field for in content Channels? A: I don't know. I suspect it is for listing content in sub-nodes when loading them in Live Writer.
Q: What is the "Category" field in content channels for? A: I don't know.
Q: What is the "Except" field in content channels for? A: I don't know.
TROUBLESHOOTING Go to Users -> Content Channel Tab -> Check that Category Field is empty Go to Users -> Content Channel Tab -> Check that Excerpt Field is empty Go to Users -> Content Channel Tab -> Check the Description Field exists in the document type. It may be incorrect in which case you will get errors.
ERROR EXPLAINATIONS ERROR: FILE UPLOAD FAILED. Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed. I am yet to figure out how to fix this.
Thanks, I could resolve it, For all those who are curious to know this: You need to carefully set the start node and other items in the channel page.
I am using Blog 4 Umbraco and now I am stuck with some xslt errors in files like BlogRssFeedLink.xslt, tags etc. Got some help in forums about it, which says we need to update the xsltconfig file by removing /bin/ in the path. Doing this few errors are gone but still errors are there in BlogRssFeedLink.xslt, tags etc. Does anybody know how to resolve these weird errors.
Umbraco 4.5 and Livewriter/Word
Hello there,
I am looking into using livewriter or word with Umbraco and I am not having any success.
I have tried following the below instructions (and several others around the place) to no success.

In Livewriter I get the following error:
I was wondering if anyone knows if this still works? or should work or weather I'm just not very good at operating computers :)
Thank you for any thoughts
Check if you have a typo (be aware of casing) in the channel settings
Thanks Thomas,
I've just been checking and rechecking my casings and settings. That isn't the problem, but I have found out now what it is.
My content channel was pointing to a node that had changed and was no longer there. So I fixed that and I was able to get in.
Now the next problem arises :)
When trying to publish my new post I get
I think my first post will have to be one on how to get this working :)
