Umbraco 4.0.3 and Umbraco 4.5.1 side by side on same IE browser
Hi, i thought of reporting this problem.
Umbraco 4.0.3 i have it as Website and login to Umbraco admin site using IE 8 browser.
Umbraco 4.5.1 i have it as Virtual Directory on a separate website root in IIS and login to Umbraco admin site using IE 8 browser.
Now when i login first to Umbraco4.0.3 and then to Umbraco 4.5.1admin site or vice versa.
ONLY one site is in login mode and other site automatically logs out. Not sure what is the sharing between these two sites. Even database is different for both the instances of umbraco.
Reason: I want to copy/paste something from 4.0.3 site to 4.5.1 site.
So what i did. i open one site on IE and another site on Firefox and now i have both sessions in LOGIN mode.
if i use same browser type and login to two versions. now it works...
Cookies are set by domain, so when one site sets the auth cookie, it will not work with the other site, since the username/password hash is probably not the same. So that is why you can probably not be logged in to both systems when using the same browser.

correcting the last line... if i use different browser type and login to two versions. now it works...
