Does publish package puts the Package Online?

Hi,

I wanted to know when I create a package and publish it, what happens?

- Does the package gets publish online on some site or?

All I want to do is create the package & save it as ZIP so I can install that site later as I will be moving servers.

I'm pretty sure that is all that happens, the ZIP gets created and you can download it.

The only packages I've found online (of my own), are those that I manually put online by creating a project on this site.
