Deleted rows in cmsTemplate in DB, now site is wacked

    Hi,

I messed up and created a template with the same name as a already existing one. I treid to delete one of em but i got a error saying that i probably had two with the same name... Well, i did.

Trying to solve that problem i went into the DB an dropped both of the templates in the table cmsTemplate. This - wich doesn't seem to be to uncommon . caused my Templates list in Settings to fail listany templates at all. Also i cant edit any document types.

I've been reading up on the fourm, but even though others had the same issue, i cant seem to find anything that acutally explains what to do. I cant really see what tables are related to the cmsTemplate. Where should i look?

I had created tabs on both document types associated to the tables, and two properties each, Also i had set a icon for the doc-types. None of the two types had any other templates selected as allowed template.. One of the types was used in a content node.

Trying to solve the problem i´ve deleted the content node that used one of the documenttypes and a template.  (when opening it it said "No document found with id 2342" where i assume the content node id was 2342). I've also emptied the recycle bin.

    No luck.

Im in deep shit. I have been working for about 14 hours straight since the last backup, and my release is due for tomorrow evening.

    What can i do?

    BTW.

I also run a development server with the same DB, that server is wrecked to. Hence i assume its strictly a DB problem.

    Running IIS7 (Win7) and IIS7.5 (Win2k8), MSSQL 2008.

Since im terrified of not being able to deliver tomorrow i kept on looking.

The templates were still referenced from nodes in umbracoNode.

Deleted em and now it works.

    Phew!

Argh, always puts the shivers up my back when I hear about deleting rows from the Umbraco database directly!

Glad that you've got it sorted now.  Best of look with your release tomorrow (or this evening)?

    Cheers, Lee.
