I've got a problem that is really getting me frustrated.
I'm running a site using umbraco
v
3.0.5 (Assembly version: 1.0.3030.19707) [yeah, i know older than old] on IIS 6.
I have a page which has 30+ child pages. Every so often, this parent page displays as blank. When I use the umbraco bug trace is says something along the lines of Template= 0. I republish the page and all the content on the page reappears.
However this also has the effect of changing the child pages 'Link To document' from a 'readable' link (like /mypagename) to what appears to be the nodeId. To fix this I have to unpublish and then republish these child pages. Not fun!!
There doesn't appear to be anything on the server event viewer to suggest a cause of these errors. And other pages using the same template do not seem to suffer from this error.
I'm looking into upgrading to umbraco 4.5.2 in the hopes of fixing the issue, but can anybody suggest something I can do on this version that can fix / hold it all together before I can complete the upgrade?
I've just looked at my database (using this webpage as a guide) and found that there were around 26000 versions of this page. but I still have no idea what could be the underlying cause of having so many versions of the page... Help?
Page turns blank at random times
