Weird login issue after Umbraco logs me out

First off, I'm using Umbraco 4.6 - which was an upgrade of a 4.5.2 install.  Win2003/IIS6.

When I initially login to Umbraco - everything is just fine.

If I leave Umbraco open for awhile it will eventually log me out, which is also fine, although it seems to happen too frequently.

However, when I log back in, instead of taking me to www.domain.com/umbraco/ it will take me to http://www.domain.com/umbraco/dashboard.aspx?app=media ... or something similar depending on what I was last looking at when it logged me out.  So, I cannot see the Content Tree or whatever would normally display in the left-hand of the screen.

Now, I can get around this by simply removing the excess stuff form the url, but telling our web authors to do this isn't an ideal solution.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Jennifer,

I think that was also a problem in 4.5.2 and earlier versions from what I can remember.

One thing you can do is increase the timeout so that your users do not time out so frequently, but default it us usually 20 minutes, but maybe you had it set to a shorter time out period?

Are you using the latest patch release of 4.6 as I thought it was resolved in this version.

    Cheers,

    Chris

I never encountered this issue on 4.5.2.  There's a newer release thatn 4.6.1?  I'll go check.  I never changed the timeout value - its the same 20 minute default value in the web.config, but it seems like this version of Umbraco is logging me out more frequently than the previous version.
