    User problems - start node

    Hello.

     

    I'm still pretty new to umbraco so bare with me.

    My problem is that i changed my user to another start node, and that start node is a underpage, i can't change it back now, when i try then i get "failed to save user (check log)"

    So the main problem is that i just wanna change my start node on a user.

     

    things i have tryed ...

    1. Even tho im a administrator then i can't create new users, i don't get any errors and i don't get a new user, nothing happens.

    2. I can't login to the default admin account, even tho i took my current user password hash in the DB and copy-phasted it to the admin user

    3. i created a user a while back, but i can't change the password for that user either i get the "error to save user (check log).

     

    to sum it up, i got 1 user i can login to at this point, and i can't create any news once or change that users start node, so i'm kinda locked out at this point.

     

    Any help?

    Hey David,

    Welcome to the forum.

    I'm not sure why you're having so many problems, however if you wish to solve "So the main problem is that i just wanna change my start node on a user."

    !!Back up your database first!!

    I'm not tested this but it should work:

    Open your [umbracoUser] table and change the startStructureID back to -1 for the user who's start node you want to change.

    Good news,

    Has something changed with the site recenty?

    Seems like your permissions are corrupt or not set properly, I would double check them.

    Are you hosting with Plesk by any chance?

    I looked a bit into the DB and figured how to restore that content, users and so on. I'm not using Plesk no.

    However i'm not a administrator anymore hmmm....

    Any clue how to set my self as administrator? - in case you do, then i should be good to go :)

    Hi,

    Just set the userType to 1 for the user who can actually login, then login and you can see what's going on.

    allready did that as my last user was 1. I still can't create any new users for whatever reason, but i guess i will have to live with that for now, i'm just doing some testing with umbraco anyway.

    damn, i was a bit to fast. Seems like i'm gonna need to be a administrator after all.

    I can't delete pages now. :(

    Any help?

    edit: sorted it.

    In umbraco it said i still was a writer even tho the DB value was 1, then i just edited the writer to function as a admin.
