I've set up a trial installation of Umbraco and am trying to get Edit in Canvas to work. I've added the <form runat="server"> to the template and that got me a little closer. Now it shows the "Click to Edit" sections but doesn't let me edit anything. It doesn't generate an error - just doesn't do anything. I've checked it in Firebug and the console showed the following:
Live Editing - ItemEditing: Item 14 (node 1142: pageTitle) was clicked
Live Editing - ItemEditing: Item 14 (node 1142: pageTitle) was activated.
Have you tried setting up a new website using a starter kit? If you do that it will give you the option to edit in canvas. That way you can test if that does work.
Yes I installed the LocalGov starter kit as I am trying to build a site for a city government. The option is there in the context menu and when I click it the page looks perfect - it's just not functional...
Hmm that is strange. Canvas has never been perfect (lot of 3rd party datatypes don't support it), but it should work for default stuff or a starter kit. Maybe try the simple starter kit and see if that works?
Edit in Canvas not working
Hello,

Live Editing - ItemEditing: Item 14 (node 1142: pageTitle) was activated.
But there are no changes on screen.
Any help would be appreciated!
