Your best bet is to speak with someone from HQ (the company behind Umbraco), they will answer any specific questions about SLAs and performance - they offer a service called Confidence.
For examples of other high-traffic websites that are powered by Umbraco, take a look at the "Who's Running Umbraco?" section of the main website. (Specifically the TakeThat.com website "peaked at 250,000 unique views per hour").
Umbraco for high-volume traffic sites
I work for a media company that has TV channels and newspapers.
We like Umbraco functionality but we want to be sure that it meets our performance requirements.
We would like to know if you have any case study of high-volume traffic and high peaks of concurrency.
We would appreciate if you can give us an estimate of what hardware/architetura we would need to mount Umbraco according to our requirements.
Our site has:
- 5 Millions of visitors a month
- 30,000 hits per hour
- 10,000 concurrent users
Much of our content is video and is mounted on a CDN separately.
What best practices can be applied using the CMS? for ex.: cache
On the other hand, we wanted to know what kind of paid support do you offer and if you have any SLA.
All information that we can provide is welcome.
Regards,
