Hi I have a site currently running on Umbraco 4.5.2. We have a node with a large number of news item nodes under it which has become difficult to work with. I created a sub datatype (news folder) and have started moving the oldest nodes in to that folder.
I have started to find that new nodes created now have a sortOrder value that puts them half way down the content tree list. I cannot see how its selecting the value and I dont want to have to sort the node list after every time I create an item, I want new nodes to appear at the end of the list as they used to.
How does Umbraco determine what sortOrder value to use on new nodes?
