    Dear Umbraco core/community

After reading about the v5 decision and viewing the whole CG keynote online, I can’t help but applaud your decision and the reasons behind it. Going forward, your openness and willingness to accept "failure" will only strengthen all of Umbraco's aspects (core/solution/community) and greatly improve trust and belief in Umbraco.

Thank you to the core team for the honesty, admitting to your previous “mistakes”. Also for having the courage to make things right, regardless of everyone’s investment.

And even though v5 has a lot of work invested in it, both by core members and people out in the trenches. That work will never go to waste, because knowledge and experience isn’t something I would classify as waste. And this knowledge and experience is something I believe will benefit the future of the original Umbraco path (v4.7+); either directly or indirectly, in the very least (which is basically what Niels said and hinted at).

And to underline another note from the keynote, directed at the community: Shame on us for being so co-dependant and/or shy on issues that affect us directly. We, the community, need to accept our part in v5’s problems and actively use our constructive criticism skills! :)

And in closing; Niels, you are an inspiration to me and whole community. Thank you.

    We Umbraco
