Is there some etuquette to the umbraco wiki/documentation?
For example; I saw one recent article that had been added. I though it could need a few additions to clarify and some references. But after I saved it, it's now displayed as if I was the author (does'nt say "author" but one can draw that conclution). I don't want to steal anyones credit here. Should or shouldn't I "enhance" other's work?
Also; is there a plan or something (brewing perhaps) for the future of the wiki?
Any do's and dont's ?
p.s. wouldn't it be wise to add some indicator of for what verison of Umbraco each article is written? That way articles could easily be rechecked if they are still valid to for the lates (and greatest) version?
I used msdn alot and, for me, it's pretty much what makes or breaks .net/c#/etc. I think it should be the same for Umbraco.
Hi Halldór, At Codegarden it was discussed the wiki would be phased out. One of the great things about the now deprecated v5 was a community based github project for documentation. Because it was so effective the project is being used for v4 as well. You can find all umbraco documentation here and v4 specific documentation in a sub folder here. The root contains a read me as to how you can contribute to the documentation.

I hope that helps answer your query.

Thank you for that.
The wiki should be phased out asap*þ For me this is all quite confusing; having so mich depricated content (without being classified as such).
I'm going to (trying to) commit to improving the documentation of Umbraco. And so should all of us ;o)
*of course the new documentation needs to more work before that can happen.
is working on a reply...
