The build of umbraco 4.11.1 in visual studio 2010 takes a long time.
Why?
Hi Denism8 and welcome to our :)
I must admit that I have no idea why the build is slow.
However I'm not sure why you want to build the Umbraco source yourself either? Unless you want to do a pull request rather than install and develop with Umbraco I don't see the point? :)
Recently Sebastiaan Janssen who is the project manager of Umbraco has created a package for setting up Umbraco with Visual studio - You can get it here http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/umbraco-visual-studio-project
Also you can read about how Matt Brailsford is structuring his Umbraco project here: http://blog.mattbrailsford.com/2010/07/14/visual-studio-project-structure-for-umbraco/ to get further inspiration.
I hope the above is what you're looking for.
Cheers,Jan
