I did not check the issue tracker, as I would imagine that 99.9% of Umbraco users don't.
From my perspective:
A "bug tacker" or "issue tacker" is a tool most often used by developers, not end users. As such, most folks report "bugs" in the "bugs" forum in the hope that a developer creates the appropriate work item in the development tool and then reports back to the forum with progress.
While it is nice that ANY individual can step back and forth over the line from "end user" to "developer" and freely contribute directly to development, the simple fact is that most users have no desire to participate at that level.
As I have pointed out so many times, part of the [my] frustration with this (and most open source) project(s) is the lack of efficient and well defined organization and workflow. Information is easily fragmented and often times good ideas and/or please for help slip through the cracks.
Likewise, the model where issues are "voted up" only works if the majority of the user base works to leverage the model...
In any case, I will post a link to another thread with details and if I have time will create an issue in the tracker.
Missing the DefaultProvider RegEx in the list of providers for UrlRewritingNet
What does it take to get somebody to pay attention to this...
There are threads that are over a year old regarding the same subject.
Error is somewhat random, but regular.
Hi William
