Hi Niels. I like Umbraco and am trying to participate in the community, but your forum system made it pretty hard for me: since I have registered it does not work. I have made two topics on forum: http://our.umbraco.org/forum/ourumb-dev-forum/bugs/35335-ourumbracoorgforum-error (half year ago) http://our.umbraco.org/forum/ourumb-dev-forum/bugs/39443-ourumbracoorgforum-bug (recently) I've got no reaction at all. Please hold that "friendliest community" thing true: fix your forum for me. It's pretty hard to use right now.
I've just lost 30 minutes worth post because of this bug again. I can describe it in details: when I'm logged in, I can see no topics, when I open projects pages, they "hiccup" (that's how umbraco developers call YSOD). That's why I must always be logged out. Once I want to post something, I log in and post it blindly. Then I log out again and see my post. Well, this time I forgot I have already logged out in other tab in order to be able to see some page. And I pressed "submit" (Post Reply) button when I was logged out. Well, your forum just thrown away my message text and told me I have to log in. What kind of software throws away user text? It's like feedback form that have a required field, and once customer forgot to fill it, he gets *This field can not be empty after postback, but his main message is lost. Why this forum just have to be so bad?
But I'm not asking to make your forum good. I'm just asking to fix my account so it is able to see topics.
Wow, what a bad experience you've had! I'm sorry to hear that - As we all know this forum is not perfect, but it has serverd most people well for a long time. BUT it sure needs a make-over for sure.
If I remember correctly the forum was moved to new servers some months ago and personally I have not seen the hiccup mesage since then I think. But if others have seen it there most be something fundamentally wrong, which needs to be fixed.
Also I keep seeing the dreaded "XSLT error" so posts are not being loaded etc. - I know that there are intentions to give our a makeover, and it has also been open sourced so the community can help fix bugs. And many weird bugs have been fixed already.
However you have been able to login and post now - don't know if the issue you have experienced has perhaps been due to some cookie issues? What browser are you using? And did you try others as well?
Looking foward to hearing from you - let's figure this thing out so others don't experience the same as you.
(Btw, it's ok to rant and be frustrated and let it all out as long as one is being constructive once it's out. We've all been there :)).
This is one of the items that is not possible for the forum admins to get at...though they do an amazing amount of work voluntarily this one required action by someone from HQ. Sorry that it slipped through for as long as it has - I'm sure that's frustrating. At any rate I've set your post threshold to -10 and it looks like you should be all set from here.

Hi Paul. Looks like my first guess was right and the problem was indeed in Threshold. Now everything works perfect for me.
