Ok, I had to assign a template to a lot of nodes, I did so successfully through SQL and now I need to republish the site.  I have never been successful republishing the entire site in a single go and the content root action, "republish entire site" ... no comment.  When I attempt so many child nodes at a time, I get smacked with a 502 error in a matter of minutes with the publishing modal laughing at me.  I can do chunks successfully, unfortunately, I have several parents with enough nodes to hit the 502 again.  I've increased the request timeout.  Before I build something to do it, I thought I'd reach out to the community.  I can't be the only one suffering similar dilemma.
