I moved an Umbraco site to my hosting and all the nodes disappeared, they are not listed and the create buttons wont work. Is this related to file system permissions?
How did you 'move' the site? Check the log files on the server and in umbraco database. They might give you some more clues. Usually the nodes not appearing is a symptom of another issue.
How are you supposed to move the site? I just uploaded all the files on the installation, I also replaced the web.config for the one on codeplex for the 3.5 framework.

Could be... Umbraco acts really funny with wrong permissions, so a lot of strange things could happen - but it's hard to tell.
I changed the file system permissions. But still I cant see the nodes for any of the sections.

Have you tried republishing the entire site?
Right click on content node and click the "republish site"
