    How to clear DB

    Hello,

I found in my DB all CMS actions from initial installation to now (creations of records, History, Deletion of records, etc.).

After a control, I found also very old documents I removed from CMS about 3 months ago.

Now, I would to clear my tables from data that no longer exist, to compact my database.

    Can I do that?
    How?
There is any tool to do that?

    Thank you for your answer
    Adriano

    Hi Adriano,

There is a SQL script available at http://blog.thoehler.com/2009/01/08/cleaning-versions-in-the-umbraco-db-for-given-nodes-via-sql that will remove old versions of data.

I thought I read about a tool to do this, but can't find any reference anywhere.

    Cheers,

    Chris

It has been part of Thomas Clienttools at one time, but as it says on this page, he is reworking the version cleaner:

    Hi Morten,
    Thank you for your answer.
I saw the project but I don't understand if this tool work with umbraco v4.0.2.1 and higher.

I'll try to contact the project owner for details.
