Putting a Ceiling on the Number of Versions Created

We would like to limit the number of versions that Umbraco creates when saving and publishing a file as this file tends to become very large.

Is there any way to do this?

    Hi Richard,

You could take a look on the package UnVersion created by Matt Brailsford, http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/unversion. This package utomaticaly removes any previous versions for those times when a version history aren't important, and you don't want to take up the database space.

You can configure the package via an unVersion.config file located in the default umbraco config folder.

Since I don't know which version of Umbraco you're using you could try to install the package on a dev environment, to see if you can get the package to work with the version that you´re running.

Just my thoughts hope it could be useful.

    /Dennis

An other package could be the F.A.L.M. Housekeeping.

You can find the information about this package here: http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/falm-housekeeping
