Umbraco 6 - encrypt Connection string

Hello guys, by a client requirement, we need to have the QS encrypted. I've stumbled upun theses forum posts:

stating that this can only be accomplisehd by tweaking the core libraries. Can anyone give me a few pointers, hints regarding HOW to do so?
