Any idea when Umbraco 7.1.5 will be released? The releases page says it's a scheduled release, yet it has no specified release date:
I'm developing a site on 7.0.4 and want to upgrade to get a few critical bug fixes, but I can't upgrade to 7.1.4 because of the serious locking bug that is due to be fixed with 7.1.5.
I think the best way to try and get a specific answer about release dates is trying to tweet using the #umbraco hash-tag.
But perhaps upgrading to 7.1.3 could be an option? Not sure if the bug you're referring to will influence all types of sites though - However it might be an option to have a go with the nightlies? http://nightly.umbraco.org/umbraco%207.1.5/
I prefer not to upgrade to intermediate releases (those opens up other problems, like getting half-implemented fixes). Also, I don't think 7.1.3 is an option (I think the major bug was in multiple Umbraco versions). However, I have taken your advice to tweet my question. Thanks.
Yup, don't like doing that sort of upgrade myself - I prefer stable releases as well but I could be that it could make sense in your scenario so though i'd mention it :)
Just to let you know, we're super busy and 7.1.5 is probably a few more weeks away. 7.1.4 has been very stable, and should be fine to upgrade to. The locking issue you refer to only affects a very limited amount of people under very specific circumstances and this has been affecting v6 as well so it's been there for a long time and would also affect 7.0.4.
No reason to wait for that fix and I've told Shannon and Stephane to hold off on releasing it until we can do more testing to make sure we don't introduce other weird bugs.
Also, FYI, it's been a crazy few months and we're understaffed (which is why we're hiring).
This is why the releases of late have unfortunately suffered in quality. But I made sure that we had a very stable release out before codegarden so that we can all start to enjoy some summer holidays after that without having to worry about "half-implemented fixes".
Thanks, Sebastiaan. I was either experiencing that major bug with 6.1.6 or a very similar issue, and it was very frustrating, so I want to avoid that. However, I'll give Umbraco 7.1.4 a try and hope for the best.
Release Date for Umbraco 7.1.5?
