    How to reset admin login

Our developer has left the company but not provided admin login details. Can someone tell me how to reset this?

    Thanks Darroch

Hi Darroch and welcome to our.

You could try to use this package, to get access to the backoffice again.

    https://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/umbraco-admin-reset/

Remember to remove the dll file again when you have reset the password for the admin user.

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

Thanks for your prompt response. Is there a simpler way to do this? I don't have a clue what to do the link you supplied.

    Hi Darroch,

You just download the file, and then drop the UmbracoAdminReset.dll file into the /bin folder, on your Umbraco installation.

Then you should be able to login with Username Admin and password to Admin1234!

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

Do you mean when i'm logged in to umbraco to drop the .dll file on the /bin folder? If so, I can't see a bin folder?

    Sorry, I'm not a developer! :(

What you need is to get on the server where the site is located, and on the server for you site, you will see the files and folder structure of your Umbraco installation.

    Hi Dennis,

Thanks for your help. I've passed this on to our trusty IT man to follow your instructions as I don't have access to the server.

    Kind regards, Darroch
