Advice about general site admin, backup/restore, etc.
I'm kind of a junior programmer, and I'm even less experienced when it comes to administering a website and SQL Server.
What should I be worrying about when it comes to administering an Umbraco website?
What about backing up and restoring a site - what are best practices for that? In a worst-case scenario, when I needed to completely restore the site, would it be as simple as the following?:
1. Copy a set of backed up files into the /umbraco directory? 2. Do a database restore using SQL Server Management Studio?
My site is shared-hosted, but I also want to practice admin tasks and backup/restore on my local PC.
No community member has a comment or reply on this? Is there a better location or article on this? Would also be nice to have one that referenced taking your live site and refreshing it to a test site. Any advice would be appreciated.
