I think you'll have to go the rss route. Not aware of an email feature notification. Sorry.

Email notifications have been on the to-do list for the forum, but no idea of when, etc.

Any of the admins know differently?

You could always use an RSS to Email service such as feedmyinbox.com in the mean time
