I uploaded a .avi movie to the Umbraco Media Library. Now I try to publish the movie on a page, but all I see is the name of the node, not the actual movie itsefl.
It's the first time I have to publish a movie on an Umbraco website.
There shouldn't be any problems using .avi files in Umbraco. Did you remember to use the GetMedia extension?
And could you maybe show us the returned XML from the extension? How did you render the file on the frontend? Would be great to see the code that does this :)

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks for your help,

Hi Kim,
I solved this using the Insert Video package by Dan Drayne:
http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/insert-video-%28flowplayer%29
Then I converted the .avi to a .flv file using the Riva converter:
http://www.rivavx.com/index.php?encoder&L=3
the result can be viewed here:

greetings,
Anthony
ps: don't bother too much about the site name, is purely scientifical research :)
Hehe, great to hear you solved it yourself Anthony :)
