What is the problem you experience? Been reading your post a couple of times now and I can't figure it out - I guess it's not working but do you get any kind of error message?
And what version of Umbrao are you trying to use it with?
That XSLT editor app on CodePlex is quite old, (over 3 years) - from taking a quick look at the source-code, it is trying to reference files in on the remote Umbraco install that have long been moved/changed.
If you really wanted to use the app... options are:
1. Get in touch with the original developers (via CodePlex) see if they want to update it?
2. Download the source-code and modify yourself ... or if you're not a C# coder - then raly up some support for it?
