    how to update doctype using web service and id node variable ?

    Try the uRest package.. was just released by Matt Brailsford 

    http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/urest

    Appears to be a small bit more secure than the SOAP webservices in umbraco standard.
