Ajax webservice calls generate a 500 error

After deploying a site to a new Windows 2008 server, none of the ajax webservice calls work - they all generate a 500 error.  This renders the tree section in the umbraco interface blank as the treeclientservice.GetInitAppTreeData cannot function correctly.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

Is it using IIS 7.5 and are you using umbracoUseDirectoryUrls?  I wonder if it's related to the problem discussed here:  http://our.umbraco.org/forum/getting-started/installing-umbraco/19233-umbracoUseDirectoryUrls-plus-legacyAjaxCallsasmxjs-plus-iis75?p=0

If so it looks like there is a workaround in that thread.

    Hope this helps,
    Tom

Lol, missed your tweet, sorry about that (@kipusoep).

The answer in the other topic is exactly the answer I wanted to propose. Glad Tom also knew about the problem and the solution! :-)
