I've updated run a series of Windows Updates on a Windows 2003 server. A couple of the older sites running Umbraco 4.5.2 and MySQL show the config/splashes/noNodes.aspx rather than site content.
The umbracolog table is being updateed with each attempt to view the page with the following:
The red herring was that I couldn't log in to the back end and so I had been looking for Permissions problems, database problems, .Net update problems and goodness know what else.
Actually it turned out I could log in to the backend; My password list had an added space on the end of two passwords - by an amazing coincidence the same two sites that were showing the No-nodes problem (And having just updated my browser I had cleared my stored passwords). Having looked at absolutely everything else I looked again at my password list and noticed the space, was able to login and the answer then was really, really simple!
No Nodes after a Windows Update

USERID: 0
NODEID: -1
LOGHEADER: NotFound
LOGCOMMENT: (from '')
(Needed a second post with the table data, it didn't go through the first time)
What does the NotFound and (from '') indicate?
Found the answer!
