    Default password encryption for umbraco 4.7.1?

    Hi 

    What is the default encryption type for umbraco 4.7.1?
    n my webconfig all I have is passwordFormat="Hashed".
    Is it MD5 or SHA1.

    I want to check a password against the one stored in the DB by hashing it as may have made a big screw up when dynamically assigning passwords, but not sure how to?
