Installing packages with Dictionary Items with no value

    Hi all,

I have created a package which has all the clients dictionary items but some are not completed as they have yet got all the translations.

So once I try to install the package I get the error:

    Value cannot be null.
    Parameter name: value

Is there anyway I can get round this by leaving the dictionary item blank?

    Thanks

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Is it a nested structucture that you're trying to import? Maybe the child is imported before the parent and that is causing the error? If that is the case maybe you can fix it by re-order the package xml by hand?

    Cheers,

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

There are no nested items in the XML Dictionary they are all on the same level. So I dont think changing the order is possible.

    Thanks

    Hi All,

After 3 days I have found the issue.

When I built the package from the staging site to the live and tried to run I got the above error and after much more invetigation it turns out the client added another 2 languages on the staging site, so when the XML was built it added these and as they done exist on the live it was giving the

    Value cannot be null.
    Parameter name: value

So a bit of advice, check the laguages match up on your staging and live sites so when you go to install the dictionry items package you dont go bald by pulling your hair out!!
