I'm a newby in Umbraco and can't understand how should I solve my problem. Could you help me please?

There is a big site, which use our internal CMS. Now we decide change our CMS to the professional one (Umbraco). But we don't want to change a lot in our code immediately. That's why we want to use Umbraco as we used our CMS - it was only a WCF service. We get information from CMS and load controls. Now the plan is: duplicate user controls from site  in Umbraco project (and use Umbraco macro editor), than pass information from Umbraco CMS to the site and load controls as usual. How should I pass information? Add WCF service to Umbraco CMS? Connect to Umbraco DB from site? Which approach more convinient?
