is an XML of ABC Sales listings that you can work off for translating
the XML to your system.
With
the exception of the first feed we would send regular XML files showing changed
data only, so most files would have 1-5 listings on them not this full list.

if that assists.
What version of Umbraco are you using? You should try having a look at CMSImport as it let's you import data from xml, csv etc. into Umbraco. Sounds like it's what you're after. Be aware that it's a commercial package though. But it's really good imho. And you should of course make sure that you download the correct version that is compatible with your Umbraco version.
When you write that site speed is extremely slow is that then on the frontend or in the umbraco backoffice?
